Responsibilities:
- Full fluency in English, written & oral
- Transcribing for closed captioning
- Reformatting scripts for other applications
- Researching to solve spelling and grammatical problems
- Screening and proofing to minimize errors
- Upholding established protocols and style guidelines
- Prioritizing duties in order to meet deadlines promptly
- Striving to meet or exceed daily work expectations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in production workflow in the broadcasting industry
- Experience as a closed captioning transcriptionist is an asset
- Must have a home environment conductive to working from home
- The flexibility and composure to perform under constant deadline pressure
- The highest attention to detail and advanced problem solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Adaptability to constant changes
- Knowledge of CTV programs and program grids
- Knowledge of the offline closed captioning process
- Proficient English language and computer skills
- Post Secondary Education in broadcasting preferred
Work conditions:
- Hours of Work: Between 0 - 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
- Work schedule: Availability to work evenings and week-ends
