The Bell Residential Services team is in the business of enabling customers to connect with people, information and entertainment by delivering integrated products and service experience for consumers while enhancing our competitiveness in the marketplace.  The team provides customers with Bell Home phone, local and long distance services, Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Bell Fibe TV.

 

Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Associate Director, Managed Services OSS Delivery, the incumbent of this position is a highly technical specialist who contributes to the implementation and support of several management tools in the delivery of Bell’s Managed Services (MS) for environments such as network, security, VoIP or servers

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes the needs for management tools for the corporation and its customers, evaluates them and propose solutions
  • Elaborates test and implementation strategies to ensure the integration and stability of the management tools.  Establishes, when necessary, development specifications
  • Elaborates system development specifications when necessary
  • Elaborates support documentation to allow ongoing operational maintenance of the management tools deployed for operations or various deliverables requested
  • Participates to the planning and the coordination of activities in project deliveries
  • Ensures the evergreen of tools by participating in system update and upgrade projects
  • Ensures the integrity, the coherence and the optimal performance of the management tools solutions and takes charge of complex problems
  • Understands and applies all the operational processes, procedures and work instructions available for proper operational venues
  • In line with its area of expertise, he participates and represents the team in request for proposals, new customer’s diligent reviews, committees and others.

 

Knowledge and Special Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of pertinent experience in computer and networking technology preferably in a telecom environment (Network, VoIP, Servers)
  • Expertise in Linux, Unix, Windows, and network management tools such as CA Spectrum, Prognosis,…
  • Excellent knowledge in TCP/IP, SNMP protocol, MIB
  • Excellent knowledge of Visio, Word, Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of technologies and protocols used in IP Telephony (Avaya and Cisco)
  • Good knowledge of communication debug tools like wireshark, tcpdump
  • Good knowledge of systems infrastructure, security norms
  • Good knowledge of XML
  • Use of industry practice and standards (ITIL, ISO 17799) 
  • Is structured, organized and has a good capacity for analysis and synthesis when confronted with challenges
