Bell Canada is looking for an experienced Art Director experienced in User Interface (UI) and User Experience Designer (UX) to join our Customer Experience team in Montreal, QC. The Art Director/ Sr. UI UX designer is part of the User Experience (UX) Centre within Bell Web, working closely with the Team Lead to design products and solutions that are user centred. The primary role of the Senior Expert is to lead and conduct the usability effort on consulting projects for clients, as well as to coach and mentor the Junior and Specialist positions. They will works closely with business stakeholders (internal or external to Bell), Web strategy consultants, graphic designers, information architects, developers, project managers, and end users to create the user experience for both mobile solutions and websites for Bell Web Solution clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Design innovative user interfaces, interactions and flows to improve user experience
- Create annotated wireframes or prototypes, as well as conceptual models, i.e. user flow diagrams
- Partner with different teams to drive the successful implementation of designs and to resolve related issues, while ensuring that the user experience remains at its best within the project constraints
- Drive usability testing with stakeholders and customers, and analyze user testing results in order to come up with recommendations
- Be the champion for our end users by creating a customer-centered interface capturing their attention while being user-friendly
Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in Art Director
- Excellent understanding of UX design for mobile and responsive web, including internal business tools, as well as technology trends
- A passion for great UX design and how it impacts user experience, conversion rates, loyalty, and consumer satisfaction
- Strong interest in answering business needs while being challenged by the limitations and constraints imposed by each project – branding, graphic standards, business orientation, budgets, backend systems limitations and business models
- An excellent understanding of user experience and interaction design principles (information architecture design, flow mapping, interaction patterns, mental modeling, customer journey mapping, etc.
- Experience Axure to create wireframes or prototypes for end-user testing
- Ability to execute usability tests: create test plans, run both online and in-person sessions, analyze the data, and create a findings presentation
- Ability to present and clearly explain deliverables to colleagues or superiors, as well as business partners internal or external to Bell.
- Ability to prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks, directly or indirectly related to deliverables, in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in order to nurture a business relation with external clients, that being in writing, by conference call or in person
- Knowledge in website accessibility is a nice to have
- Conduct the interaction design effort:
- Design and document workflow, dataflow, and navigation as diagrams or flowcharts
- Design and document page layout and content as wireframes
- Define interaction and function specifications as annotations to wireframes (or separately as required)
- Create low-fidelity or interactive prototypes to illustrate the emerging design
- Lead or coach the Junior and Specialist positions in these activities, as required
Practice development:
- Participate in research opportunities, publish and present papers for professional journals and conferences
- Conduct “technology watch” activities to discover new insights and trends in user centred design, technologies, and related services; share insights with colleagues
Administration:
- Maintain portfolio of user centred design projects
- Track billable and non-billable time accurately; submit timesheet each week
- Share tasks with user experience centre members as appropriate to develop skills and balance workloads
Technical Knowledge:
- CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver);
- Acrobat, Microsoft Office.
Good Knowledge:
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Axure RP 6.5, Balsamiq, Google Analytics, SEO , A/B testing;
