We are seeking a DevOps Architect to work alongside our development and operational teams to help manage and optimize our environments responsible for continuous integration, deployment, automation and requirements and collaboration tools. You will be responsible for taking better control of our existing systems and infrastructure while helping to make decisions about new infrastructure and technologies to make it better.   You will manage our existing Atlassian instance, implement custom workflows and train internal staff on how best to use the Atlassian suite of products.

As a DevOps Architect you will have a strong technical background and be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production issues, developing monitoring solutions and tools which will automate daily operational activities.

           

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Advocate and facilitate adoption of DevOps appropriate practices across multiple development environments.
  • Install, upgrade, integrate and administer Atlassian Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Stash and Crucible, etc.
  • Administer Atlassian Tools instances on a day to day basis including performance tuning/scaling and user support.
  • Manage permissions for the Atlassian Tools, including project wide and issue/space/repository access.
  • Create comprehensive JIRA workflows including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes, etc.
  • Use built-in customization, as well as third party add-ons, for extending the functionality of Atlassian Tools.
  • Research Atlassian best practices for implementation and train internal teams on how to best use the tools to improve processes and communication.
  • Setup Continuous Integration and automated deployments using Stash/Jenkins.
  • Set up Jenkins to integrate with Atlassian
  • Write Stash pre-commit script to ensure unit testing code is included and execute unit testing.
  • Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities across an entire infrastructure stack
  • Develop automation and processes to enable development and operations teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications       Develop reusable, scalable, and testable automation scripts and tools for routine and repetitive tasks
  • Troubleshoot and expeditiously resolve escalated software and infrastructure related issues and challenges
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance for critical systems.
  • Documentation system environments, custom scripts and processes.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or related field of study
  • Expert level Atlassian tool administration knowledge on JIRA, Confluence, Stash, Crucible, etc.
  • At least 2 years architecting and building solutions leveraging DevOp’s tools such as Puppet, Chef and Jenkins, Team City, Git, etc.
  • Experience working in a test driven development environment and writing fully automated unit/functional/integration tests with at least 80% code coverage
  • Experience using application monitoring and log management tools
  • Extensive experience with scripting languages (Python, Groovy, Bash, Perl, Ruby)
  • Knowledge of HTTP and RESTful services
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, UDP) 
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience administering Linux (CentOS & Ubuntu) and Windows environments
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience with Mac OS X administration
  • Good understanding of Git with experience in branching, tagging, merging, and release management best practices
  • Experience working with Active Directory preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Team player with the desire to own projects and the ability to work with minimal guidance in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with good time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
