Bell Mobility seeks a talented and motivated person who would like to join a dynamic team working in the Wireless networks
The chosen candidate must be able to work very closely with the Network Operations and technology development group by providing National network trunking support.
His/Her main tasks will be
- Forecast & connectivity projects for voices network HSPA, CDMA (Network capacity)
- Work closely with Translation team for the configuration and call routing
- Order facilities via Transport team
- Work with various Wireline teams (Bell Canada, Bell West, Telus Landline) on network planning and projects
- Complete the Interconnection and gateway move project for the Saskatchewan area
- Complete optimization of the call routing in CDMA
- Trunking capacity management of the national circuit switched voice trunking networks (CDMA and HSPA networks )
- Least cost routing policy recommendations, analysis, implementation and maintenance
- 2nd level support for the Operations team for the voice circuits.
- Maintain national PSTN and intra-switch forecasts based on Marketing subscriber forecasts for both technologies CDMA and HSPA
- Assess cost and trunking impacts of network changes and new service implementation and coordinate such network changes with multi-disciplinary teams
- Recommend translations and interconnection changes that will either reduce cost or provide network diversity and robustness
- Evaluate costs and impact on facilities on interconnections for new services and coordinate changes with multiple team
- Recommand translations changes and interconnection options for costs reduction Support interconnection projects of smaller sister companies
Required competencies/essential skills
- Technical or engineering degree in Electrical/Computer Science with 5 to 10 years of related experience
- Knowledge of cellular networks
- Knowledge of SS7 and wireless networking protocols (IS-41,GSM Map).
- Knowledge of Local calling area’s
- Knowledge of Value added services available on Bell Mobility Network
- Knowledge and experience on number portability architecture
- Excellent knowledge of translations in DSX-200 or ATCA NSN switching platforms
- Knowledge of IMS, VoLTE and TAS server
- Knowledge of Wireless 9-1-1 services
- Knowledge and experience on number portability architecture
- Knowledge of roaming services
- Strong aptitude in project management
- Strong knowledge in EXCEL including building and maintaining macros’ and script . power point and access db
- Strong aptitude in analysing and compiling data coming from any different sources and format
- Abilities in developing strategies and process and communication information to different teams (Marketing, WT, OPS, billing etc…)
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies
- Translations and routing knowledge
- Good understanding of HSPA pooling concepts and call flows
- Good understanding of how portability works in Canada
- Good understanding of the different call types (call flows)
- Basic understanding of NGN technologies and network evolution strategies, e.g., 4G LTE
- Knowledge of Network/Cost modeling techniques.
- Experience with financial concepts, budget processes
- Familiarity with Business Cases and Business Case Analysis
- Knowledge or Agile Methodology and SCRUM is an asset
