Security Specialist, Corporate Security
Job duties / accountabilities:
Through effective research, analysis, leadership, coordination, communication, and training, the incumbent must ensure that the work is conducted with the utmost integrity and professionalism in the best interest of the Company, and that sufficient security measures are in place and effective. The main responsibilities are:
* Develop strategies and programs to attain desired standard and protection levels.
* Research and issue security recommendations for events and incidents to local management.
* Perform risk assessments in various environments (office, events, other, etc.).
* Provide threat analysis and recommendations for event and close protection requirements.
* Select, manage and supervise service providers for various protection requirements.
* Deliver security measures during events.
* Contribute to creation of guidelines for ESS and other special security initiatives.
* with various Corporate Security teams to be able to deliver solutions to the business unit.
* Identify trends and best practices in protection standards.
* Review benchmarks and reports to identify risks and/or trends in various environments.
* Demonstrate professionalism in carrying out responsibilities; provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
* Identify and review Security Non-Compliances and Gaps with respect to protection issues.
* Ensure compliance to all security-related policies and procedures by building a positive security culture.
* Act as a subject matter expert and analyze the root cause when Security Non-Compliances and Gaps are identified.
* Partner with the business units to meet their individual security needs.
* Develop and maintain internal partnerships with business unit management and external partnerships within the Security, Fraud Management, Loss Prevention industry and law enforcement.
* Be an on-call resource in various security/protection situations.
* Back up and support on various components related to the ESS program. Provide occasional training to business unit teams on security matters.
* Participate in various projects and initiatives in order to enhance the activities of the corporate security teams Participate in; research material and analyze data in support of projects.
* Contribute to the international travel safety program by remaining current, sharing alerts and providing recommendations to various travelling groups.
* Prepare matrices and guidelines to structure and make various programs more accessible for the end users.
* Liaise with other Corporate Security teams to provide optimal solutions by maximising resources and expertise.
* Promote the accessibility of the Corporate Security department.
* Remain current on security trends and innovations.
* Remain current on threat, fraud and theft trends related to the business. Be able to apply countermeasure recommendations to various business units and internal clients.
* Be a resource for various internal client groups with respect to general security issues and safety items.
Essential skills / competencies:
* Bilingual English and French (written and oral) is an asset.
* College degree or a University education and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in Corporate Security environment / Law Enforcement.
* Industry recognised certification is an asset (i.e. CPP, PSP, CFE, PPS).
* Experience in security service / loss prevention / asset protection or law enforcement, with a strong background in analysis, threat risk assessment, field work and documentation.
* Capable of identifying benchmarks and establishing internal standards.
* Interest in and capable of developing policy, standards and guidelines.
* Excellent oral, written, and group communication skills.
* Project management experience.
* Ability to make effective use of technology to further program.
* Comfort level with new technology and communication tools.
* Ability to prioritize and work under pressure; strong analytical / problem-solving skills with attention to detail, creative and good business judgement.
* Excellent negotiating, decision making, prioritization, communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
* Intervention skills and ability to be decisive, remain calm, and cope with various levels of stress.

Working Conditions:
* Must pass a security clearance check including criminal record check.
* This position may require on call evening and weekend work. Personal social plans and/or vacations may be occasionally cancelled to meet immediate demands of the job.
* Occasional overnight travel may be required.
* The candidate must be able to visit and occasionally work at multiple Bell locations.
* Be able to obtain and maintain a provincial security/investigations permit.
