Name and description of hiring department:
9-1-1 Emergency Service. The incumbent is responsible for activities related to the monitoring, maintenance and implementation of the 9-1-1 voice and data network, competitors and wireless providers, etc.).
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
* Promptly respond and find solutions to any service interruptions and any incidents or issues detected within the 9-1-1 network, while meeting the 9-1-1 team's established criteria for processes, procedures and service agreements
* Monitor and analyze systems (voice, data, IP systems)
* Configure various systems
* Perform tasks associated with changes, relocations, additions, modifications, the 9-1-1 response centre network, competitors and wireless involving several parties (preparation, testing, translation, calls with customers, etc.)
* Respond to support requests from a range of individuals, submitted by various means (phone, email, ticketing system)
* Analyze disruptions to 9-1-1 voice and data networks (DMS, Transport, Datapac, Dataroute, Megaroute, IP network, IPVPN)
* Maintain servers (build scripts, maintain WEB, SQL query, etc.)
* Submit queries in various systems (Info-DMS / CALRS / FSOS / BCRIS / PAIRS / CNA / IBI / NCMS / NM1)
* Retrace addresses
* Contribute to project delivery by performing the work assigned within deadlines and producing high-quality results
* Record, in a ticketing system, any disruptions or problems encountered and actions taken in the course of managing the 9-1-1 service
* Test out versions of 9-1-1 applications and tools
Essential Qualifications / Skills:
* English (5-5-5) / 5 = Fluent in the language with no significant limitation
* College Diploma (D.C.S) in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of IP technology
Preferred Qualifications / Competencies:
* Knowledge of UNIX, SQL, HTML scripting
* Knowledge of ISNMS / Netvision / NETS
* Knowledge MPLS, DMS, voice/data networks
* Ability to work in teams and under pressure to resolve 9-1-1 problems
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
* Outstanding customer focus
Working Conditions:
* Candidate must be willing to work outside normal hours, some holidays and short notice overtime as required in the 7/24 Operational Center
