Responsibilities:
- Responsible for newscasts for CP24 Breakfast
- Supervise line-up and writing of news for CP24 Breakfast
- Work with writers and assignment to ensure CP24 Breakfast is on top of all news and covering events live when appropriate
- Responsible for taking newscasts and live events to air
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Extensive control room experience
- Extensive experience in dealing with breaking news coverage
- Experience in senior roles in news/information programming or equivalent
- In depth knowledge of the City of Toronto is a major asset
- Excellent organizational and writing skills
- Exceptional communication and computer skills
- Thrive under pressure
- Ability to work in a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional journalism standards.
- Proven strength in use of video in story telling
