Position Description:
The Bell Business Markets Networking Solutions team delivers industry-leading voice, video, wired and wireless network solutions to Bell’s business and public sector customers. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who will lead the delivery of large IP telephony / unified communications projects for our customers in the Ottawa market.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
* Develop IP Telephony and unified communications designs based on the latest Cisco advanced technologies.
* Implement & support IPT & UC solutions for clients based on industry and Bell best practices.
* Provide knowledge transfer and detailed design/operational documentation to clients.
* Grow the Bell UC team’s knowledge by sharing your expertise.
* Apply IT knowledge/experience to interpret customers’ needs and develop strategic Unified Communications (UC) Roadmaps
* Maintain relations with Bell’s IT vendors and partners in order to understand and represent their solutions
* Keeps up to date on new technological solutions and trends
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
* Excellent knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony and Unified Communications solutions
* Multiple examples of accountability as lead architect for Enterprise VOIP customer implementation projects
* Three + years experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise IP telephony solutions based on Cisco technology (Call Manager, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, UCCX, Prime)
* Working knowledge of IP telephony and networking technologies offered by Avaya, Microsoft, Mitel and other vendors
* Strong understanding of Unified Communications concepts and especially voice / video convergence.
* Ability to apply IT knowledge/experience to interpret customers’ needs and develop a strategic Voice and Unified Communications (UC) Architecture and / or Roadmap
* Demonstrated knowledge of IP network routing, switching and management
* Mastery of network communications protocols
* Knowledge of network management, network availability, QOS & capacity planning
* Proven ability to lead and deliver complex projects on time and on budget
* Experience in identifying and documenting design/architecture best practices for adoption.
* Excellent client management/resolution, problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills
* Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills
* Active Cisco CCVP certification is required
* Active CCIE (Voice) certification is desired
* Typically requires engineering or computer science degree or equivalent plus 5-10 years experience in a professional services or telecommunications support environment
* Hold or can obtain Secret Government of Canada security clearance
* Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset
