Our Network team plans, designs, builds and operates Bell’s multi-billion dollar networks, including the continued expansion of our fibre optic network, HSPA+ and LTE — Canada’s largest and fastest wireless network.

The candidate will be responsible for the administration of storage and virtualization platforms. He will also ensure the smooth operation of production environments. The administrator will help the rest of his team to implement more efficient working methods.
In short, the storage and virtualization administrator will assist in the development and implementation of good mechanisms in order to facilitate the management of different production environments for the enterprise.
Responsibilities
* Day to day management
* Manage and optimize the SAN and VMware platforms.
* Manage and optimize the overall infrastructure.
* Conduct analysis of opportunities on the possible improvement of the existing platform.
* Measure, evaluate and document the performance of the SAN and VMware platforms.
* Develop technical documentation and procedures associated with management the SAN and VMware platforms.
* Ensure the daily management of transactions related to the SAN and VMware platforms.
* Ensure proper operation of virtualized servers.
* Establish procedures and develop systems (automation) to increase the effectiveness of surveillance tasks.
* Perform all operational related duties related to the SAN platforms.
* Perform all operational related duties related to the VMware platforms.
* Analyze and diagnose problems and implement fixes that resolve them.
* 24x7 support (on rotation) of the SAN and VMware environments.
* Participates in the development and evolution of all related documentation.
* Participate in implementation windows outside of business hours.
Requirements
* BAC or DEC in computer related studies.
* 5 + years of relevant experience in the administration of SAN and VMware platforms in large business environments.
Essential Knowledge:
* IBM SVC (San Volume Controller)
* SAN IBM DS (DS3000, DS4000, DS5000)
* VMware vSphere.
* vCenter
* VMA
* Citrix (XenApp 6.5 or +)
* IBM Tivoli (TSM)
* Symantec NetBackup
* Brocade
Optional Knowledge:
* VCP (VMware Certified Professional)
* Cisco MDS
* McData
* VEEAM nWorks
* HP MSA/EVA
* iSCSI
* TCP/IP
* Knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 systems.
* Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4 / 5 systems.
* Bilingual required.
* Experience in managing complex computing environments across multiple sites.
* Experience in managing high-availability environments.
* Excellent knowledge of Security.
* Strong ability to draft technical documentation.
