The Bell Procurement team is a best-in-class Procurement organization using leading industry practices in sourcing activities. We are a centralized organization focussed on the management of BCE Inc. expenditures by leading the sourcing of goods and services throughout the company. As we grow and invest in new technologies, our role involves maximizing every dollar spent on products and services. Our networks are fueled by suppliers’ technology and Procurement is at the forefront of these contracts, leading negotiations with suppliers to ensure best value is obtained.

The Role:

This positions calls for an individual who enjoys customer service and is resilient in the face of complexity and adversity. To succeed in this role, the candidate must have an unrelenting attention to detail and be focused not only on problem identification but problem solving with a demonstrated ability to execute solutions.

Supported by the Senior Manager, the Manager - Procurement will be responsible for driving corporate travel and discretionary expense compliance across the company. The Manager will establish rules for allowable expenses while reducing costs through effective discretionary expense management and oversight. The Manager will play a primary role in supporting employees who need to incur business expenses as part of their responsibilities.

Job duties/Accountabilities:

* Promote adherence to the principles and procedures of Bell’s Discretionary Expense Policy
* Establish and manage controls for all discretionary business expenses incurred during the conduct of company activities.
* Directly manage suppliers who provide travel services and discretionary goods to Bell.
* Provide customer service to employees incurring business expenses (e.g.: booking travel / advising on purchasing channels)
* Drive total cost of ownership reduction through joint process improvements with suppliers and internal business partners.
* Implement standard supplier performance management program and monitor to ensure contract terms & conditions are being met and exceeded
* Provide industry and category expertise in support of the sourcing process
* Evaluate changing dynamics in the marketplace such as new technology, products or services
* Continually identify leading practices from inside and outside of Bell for adoption
* Facilitate framework for communications between all stakeholders
* Re-negotiate contracts when strategic sourcing is not the appropriate strategy
* Provide escalation support for supplier performance issues

Critical Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 2 to 3 years experience in a similar Procurement role in a Corporate environment
* Demonstrated history of advanced operational skills including:
* Customer service (understanding employee requirements)
* Promoting corporate/department financial goals
* Enforcing standards through rigorous controls
* Tracking and Measuring performance
* Advocating the importance of organizational objectives

* Sophisticated communication skills with exhibited ability to foster strong inter-departmental relationships and collaboration.
* Proven experience in managing staff
* Experience managing vendors and suppliers of travel services and discretionary goods

* Ability to maintain firm resolve during difficult situations, while remain professional and courteous
* Strong business acumen including sound judgment and negotiation
* Solid analytical, prioritization and persuasion skills
* MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* 2+ years experience in corporate-wide policy management including adherence and execution
* 2+ years of proven experience in corporate expense management
* 2+ years experience in the Travel and Entertainment industry
* Working knowledge of MS Access
* Bilingualism, English and French is preferred
