Position: News Anchor/Reporter - Penticton Radio

Location: Penticton, British Columbia

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Responsibilities:

* Anchor morning newscasts and reporting Monday to Friday.
* Develop community contacts.
* Attend News events, chase stories and follow up on files.
* Post stories to web daily.
* Find the local and or regional angle to provincial and national stories.
* Work with team members to brainstorm story ideas and co-ordinate news events.
* Other news-department duties as assigned by the News Director.

Qualifications:

* Ability to work with minimal supervision and/or frequently un-supervised
* Ability to generate at least three stories per day.
* A solid on-air delivery.
* Excellent writing and communication skills.
* Mature, calm and professional manner
* Able to take instruction with ease; willing to learn
* Proven display of initiative
* Represent Bell Media with integrity, respect and mature judgment
* Minimum two years’ experience.
* Experience covering police and court.
* Broadcast (radio) journalism education from a recognized institution required.
* A valid driver’s license (abstract may be required)
* Strong references
