The Bell Mobility wireless network team designs, builds and operates Canada’s Best Network. Mobile TV, Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry, Android, iPhone, HSPA+, LTE, IPv6 are the toys in our playground. Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Wireless Data Network Operations, the successful candidate will function in a team consisting of highly skilled technicians and specialists responsible for the implementation, maintenance and 2nd level of operational support of the IP networks.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
* Operational support for LAN/WAN related network incidents. (investigation of element and link failures, network routing, performance, security)
* Tracks appropriate information and completes ticket, outage and post mortem records as necessary
* Completes periodic routine maintenance and daily tasks, tracking results and resolving problems as appropriate
* Monitors network indicators and initiates further testing and corrective action as necessary
* Completes administrative reporting/tracking requirements and provides input to periodic activity/status reports
* Configuration of different network elements, Switches, Routers, Firewalls and IPS(Intrusion Prevention Systems)
* Completes physical installation, cabling, commission, testing of equipment as assigned
* Participates in implementation, verification and acceptance testing of new hardware, software, services or functionality
* Interaction with Bell Mobility Data Engineering
* Able to work without direct supervision
Essential Qualifications
* The candidate should be a graduate from an Electronics, Computer Science or Telecommunications Technologist program and have 3-5 years related work experience
* Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA-ER/JNCIS-ER certification
* Experience with UMTS/HSPA equipment or knowledge on 3GPP standards of UMTS/HSPA
* Good knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite and layer 2 and 3 architectures
* Good knowledge of Cisco and Juniper hardware and software. (Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS Operating systems)
* Excellent network troubleshooting skills, efficient problem-solving methodology, knowledgeable in packet analysis and troubleshooting/debug commands on operating systems Cisco(IOS), Juniper(JUNOS), Unix/Linux/HpUx, Windows
* Good knowledge in network management platforms such as CiscoWorks, HP Openview(NNM,OVPI), SNMP managers
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English/French
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
* Cisco and Juniper hardware and software. (Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS Operating systems)
* Knowledge in Firewall technologies and Intrusion Prevention Systems (Checkpoint/Juniper)
* Good understanding of Wireless Data Network Operations processes
* Good knowledge of Applications & Technology Development teams
* Extensive knowledge of Bell Mobility's wireless data networks and services
Work conditions :
* Work schedule: Rotating shift work and some weekend/holiday and availabilities to provide on-call coverage if required
* Work locations: Montreal, Quebec or Toronto, Ontario
