The Role:
The Bell Mobility Finance team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to join the Wireless Business Analytics team.
Wireless Business Analytics will be a key contributor to the overall Finance team. This includes building analyses for strategic reviews and planning sessions and reporting on key financial indicators and metrics. This person will become an expert on the Canadian Wireless Industry by understanding the many facets of the business and working with both internal and external data to highlight key opportunities and risks to senior executives. This knowledge and research will evolve into the preparation of presentations to the Senior Management Team.
The Wireless Business Analytics team is responsible for working with various business units to provide consulting services to help them improve strategically and operationally on a project by project basis.
Examples of projects include:
* Identifying key industry changes and the impact on BCE financials.
* Data mining and analysis to identify areas of risk or opportunity.
* Improving the distribution process of high-value launch inventory.
* Exploring and providing business cases for new prospective projects.
The successful candidate will need to possess consulting type experience with strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a clear ability to identify key business trends and issues. The candidate will also have the capacity to build relationships at various levels of the organization and the confidence to participate in Senior-level discussions. In addition, the candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work independently to complete specified tasks under tight deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
* Work with business units to identify/validate key business results and provide sound recommendations on building growth.
* Develop, maintain and analyze major strategic business cases for business units
* Support financial/strategic reviews with the Senior Management team.
* Conduct cost/benefit analysis and sensitivities in a timely and accurate manner.
* Liaise with Business Unit Finance teams on key business trends and analysis.
* Obtain information from various internal and external systems and build financial models that make efficient use of data from various sources.
* Clarify and simplify project requirements and summarize for executive review
* Build succinct presentations to successfully communicate findings to an executive audience.
* Work independently to prioritize and present various projects.
* Effectively lead cross-functional teams as well as direct reports.
Critical Competencies:
* Undergraduate degree in finance. CMA/CA/CGA/MBA preferred
* Experience with developing business cases, adhoc financial analysis and providing recommendations to senior management
* Comfortable working with various financial systems and has a superior working knowledge of Excel.
* Minimum 5 years of finance related work experience.
* Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills).
* Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Business confidence, professional acumen, and internal initiative are key.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and information effectively.
* Able to self-manage, successfully complete unstructured tasks, and is results oriented.
* Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and working on several deliverables simultaneously.
* Ability to partner with cross-functional Finance teams & colleagues.
* Enjoys data mining and data research.
* Proactively looks for opportunities for business improvements.
* Have a flexible schedule during peak periods.
* Wireless experience is considered an asset.
