Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Plus overtime, evenings and weekends, as required.
Responsibilities: Working as part of the CTV News Team, this multi-talented individual will be responsible for:
* Ability to take a live show to air in a control room environment.
* Ensuring a creative and technically clean product is put to air.
* Ability to anticipate issues and determine creative solutions to challenging situations.
* Working with producers, assignment editors, anchors, reporters and news management in ensuring a strong newscast is put to air.
* Working with other producers and on-air talent in preparation for all current affairs programs, live special events, remotes, elections, etc.
* Ability to act quickly in a fast paced live environment, and respond appropriately to editorial and technical changes/issues.
* Communicate well with control room and on-air staff.
* Ability to work well with others around you in a senior role.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Three years’ experience in a medium market TV newsroom.
* Proven understanding of a control room environment.
* Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast program or related television news experience.
* Proven editorial news judgment and experience with high journalistic standards.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Proven creative ability to put a newscast to air.
* Ability to make quick decisions and thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment.
* In-depth knowledge of local, provincial and national news.
* Knowledge of iNews software an asset.
Show producing experience preferred
