Hours of Work: Maximum 24 hours per week. Will include working evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:

* Propose and develop original story ideas
* Shoots material, gathers information, writes scripts and edits stories in packaged or voice-over form.
* May perform anchoring and line producing as required.
* Other duties including weekend weather anchoring as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of three year's television news experience in a daily news environment
* Graduate of a recognized college or university journalism program or equivalent experience.
* Experience with “live” presentation.
* Demonstrated ability to provide content to multiple digital platforms, including websites and social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
* Experience with ENG camera and editing with non-linear equipment
* Line producing and anchoring experience will be a preferred asset.
* Strong team player.
* Demonstrated initiative, creativity and curiosity
* Creative storytelling skills and strong news judgement
* Ability to work quickly and under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Valid G Class driver’s licence and a good driving record are required.
* Strong interest in weather and able to anchor weekend weather
