Role Description - Post-Sales Engineering
* Provides post-sales technical assistance to the sales team, customers and customer service during and after the sales process.
* Works with Sales and Customer to create technical bill of materials and quotations for customers using internal tools utilizing their technical knowledge of Internetworking hardware.
* Provides technical design input to the business office to help complete order entry for installs and change orders.
* Works with the CSE team to understand and ensure customer technical requirements are captured accurately
* Works with Sales Support team to address additional gaps in the technical order entry process which may contribute to a reduction in service delivery interval for our customers
* Apply high technical knowledge for our Layer 2 and Layer 3 services to ensure accurate customer requirements are being relayed internally for our systems to complete provisioning of our services.
* Function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations.
* Advise Customer Service/Business Office of appropriate technical specifications to ensure services are delivered correctly
* Maintains up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the organization's and competitors' products and/or services.
* Advise Customer Service/Business Office of appropriate technical specifications to ensure services are delivered correctly
Responsibilities
* Act as a key player on Wholesale Sales Support team
* Work with CSE to understand the customer’s technology environment
* Ensure technical requirements for customer orders are accurately captured in our post-sales order entry tools by working with the CSE and Sales primes.
* Create technical Bill of Materials and quotations for customers, based on Sales direction, using your technical knowledge of internetworking hardware
* Work with Sales and Sales Support teams to provide information on customer locations relative to Bell network.
* Maintain database of customer design information
* Provide weekly reports on level of activity for all aspects of this role.
* Work closely with CSE, Customer Service, Business Offices, and other engineering groups to ensure customer solutions are designed and delivered according to sold proposal
Skills and Competencies
* Familiar with OSI Model: knowledge of layer 1, 2, 3 technologies
* Working knowledge of Telecommunications hardware – routers, switches, hubs
* Ability to communicate with customers at a professional and technical level
* Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies, ideas and concepts
* High degree of proficiency in MS Office: Power point, Excel and Word
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Strong communication skills – written and verbal
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Analytical skills
* Problem solving skills
* High tolerance to ambiguity
* Business and financial acumen is an asset
Education
* University degree/ College engineering or technology degree/diploma
* Or equivalent experience
