We are looking for a new member in our quality control team at the 1616 technical department, as QC operator. If you wish to progress in a field that oversees the quality and conformity of television broadcast products, we would like to meet you.
The QC team validates that all products meets the on-air norms and standards required by broadcast and programming. It is responsible for entering the appropriate information for proper on-air play out. It is also responsible for technical QC of promotional and advertising material.
The candidate selected will be under the direct authority of the Manager, broadcast operations – product handling, and will collaborate with many other services in the 1616 technical department, mainly QC coordination, program editors, programming, post-production, commercial programming, broadcast operators, Web and VOD. We are looking for someone who performs well under the pressure imposed by short delays, precise data entries; someone eager to learn and who possesses aptitudes toward interpersonal professional relations.
Job description
* As a QC operator, you will have to do the technical evaluation of all audiovisual documents according to the norms and standards expected and the priorities established by QC coordination. You will have to enter precise data in the appropriate IT systems and inform proper authorities of any problem
* The candidate of choice must fell at ease working in an exciting environment focused on the respect of deadlines. We are looking for people capable of working under great concentration for several hours on, motivated by a passion for television and movies and possessing an edge for analysis and the capacity to adapt
Tasks and responsibilities
* The candidate of choice will have the following responsibilities:
* Technical evaluation of audiovisual documents in the form of digital files, according to the norms and standards expected, the service’s specificities and the priorities established
* Note all technical defaults
* Properly identify audio tracks
* Properly identify any manipulation/adjustments for the following operations
* Document identification (data entry in different IT systems)
* Correct the duration of documents and commercial breaks, if necessary
* Verify and/or look for close captioning and video description
* If needed, inform proper authorities of any problem
Essential skills
* Experience in audiovisual production (QC, editing, on-air operator, VTR, etc.)
* Good technical knowledge of HD audio and video signals
* Experience with audiovisual measuring equipment (waveform, vector scope, etc.)
* Capable of working under intense concentration for several hours a day
* Comfortable working alone, under limited or no supervision
* Intermediate knowledge of IT
* Learns quickly and adapts easily to technological changes
* A good sense of initiative, resourceful and organised
* Have a technical diploma in a field related to television
* Good knowledge of French (spoken and written)
* Knowledge with Avid Editing platforms is a definite plus
* Knowledge in electronics is a nice to have
