Position: Editor (Part Time)

Location: CTV Winnipeg
Salary: Unifor Local 816M, Group VII.  Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: Varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities: 
• Operating an ENG Camera, including lighting and sound equipment for news and sports
• Editing video and sound material on deadline for broadcast
• Intervewing story subjects
• Contributing to the station’s on-line content
• Shooting and editing promotion and production elements
• The safe operation of all equipment, and formally reporting any malfunctions of equipment immediately
• Weekend and evening assignments
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast or related program
• At least one year of experience in a television news room
• Experience in ENG photography and editing in a newsroom setting
• Proven ability to use sound and pictures to help tell the story
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work unsupervised and make quick decisions
• Ability to deal with multiple demands and pressures of on-air deadlines
• Understanding of broadcast law
• Demonstrated non-linear editing skills
• Experience on iNews an asset
• Must have and maintain valid documents required for travel to the United States
• Must possess a valid Class 5 or equivalent driver’s licence
