This role is for Télébec internal Teamsters Technicians applicants only. External applicants will not be considered.

 

Job summary

The incumbent works as a specialized analyst and oversees the proper functioning of the data equipment and security for our major customers while providing technical support to salespeople, technicians and suppliers.


Duties:

- Analyze, diagnose, intervene and take action to solve any problem arising with the company’s data and security networks, systems or equipment sold by Télébec.

- Act as technical support for major customers, salespeople, technicians and any other department, if required, during installations, outages, restoration or activations.

- Help with, prepare and program, as needed, various equipment during activation. Use various tools such as IPACT, NOC, Remedy, GMS, etc.

- Work on upgrading equipment or migrating to new technology.

- Conduct technical tests on new products and services.  Issue recommendations and comparative reports as needed.

- Design and develop new solutions after upgrades to various applications and projects.

- Be available to work flexible schedules

- Perform any related tasks, as required.


Incumbent profile

Education: DCS in electronics (telecommunications and/or computer systems option), or equivalent

 

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of data transmission equipment, optical transmission systems and firewalls
- Extensive knowledge of networking
- In-depth knowledge of data transmission, networking and firewalls
- Good knowledge of programming and languages
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Bilingualism (an asset)
