This role is for Télébec internal Unifor Clerical and associated applicants only. External applicants will not be considered.

 

Job summary

The incumbent responds to internal and external clients for data transmission services (network and data circuit). The individual analyzes, designs and responds to requests and works with various databases such as GATT, DLM, L2M, etc.


Duties:

- Handle pre-sales requests. Validate feasibility using various tools and respond to requests within deadlines. Ensure the availability of requested services depending on the territory.

- For IPVPN services, use IPACT to respond to requests. Once completed, use the tool to close the task.

- Orders: design the 879 using various tools (including DLM) within the requested deadlines (ERD), and once complete, put it in distribution.

- Projects: work with other departments that are involved.

- Handle various requests and network change requests to be processed.

- Layer 2 services: define the logical circuits in the L2M tool.

- As required, provide the equipment and order the various form-factor pluggables.

- Perform compilations for the monthly report.

- Perform other related tasks, as required.


Minimum requirements

 

Education: Work experience in telecommunications or DCS in electronics (telecommunications option)

 

Knowledge and expertise:
- Good understanding of data transmission equipment and elements of IP, MPLS, LAN extension networks and analog circuits
- Knowledge of tools and databases such as GDL, L2M, IPACT
- Good knowledge of data transmission (DATA) and equipment used
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
