Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a social strategy that raises awareness of channel priorities, builds a loyal and engaged community of brand advocates, increases web traffic and complements other marketing campaigns in an effort to drive broadcast ratings.
- Community management and moderation across all platforms, including live tweeting priority programs. Evening and weekend work as required.
- Monitor audience engagement and brand sentiment. Define key performance indicators and implement measurement and reporting methods to track key metrics related to social, marketing and overall business goals.
- Work with the Digital and Production teams to coordinate and execute contests and explore/identify ways of integrating social media into web and on-air content. Source materials from Creative and Digital teams to fulfill social media activities.
- Liaison with Communications and Publicity teams to coordinate major brand announcements across social media platforms.
- Work closely with the Conventional Marketing team to develop strategic digital / social campaigns for key priorities.
- Identify, prioritize marketing objectives, create & communicate targets/briefs/plans
- Clever, creative writing
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in social media marketing or advertising.
- Love of pop culture and entertainment.
- Understanding of and appreciation for Social/Internet-culture humour.
- Very strong creative writing skills: must be able to effectively craft social voices, as appropriate both within the social media landscape and within the brand filter.
- Proven experience developing/executing social & digital based marketing initiatives that deliver proven results.
- Experience within the broadcast/media industry an asset.
- A self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies and ability to communicate this knowledge clearly and concisely as it relates to our social and business goals.
- High proficiency with social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Google+, YouTube etc.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines, juggling several assignments - often within high-stress live television and events.
