The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

Position Description:

The Senior Business Solutions Architect is responsible for managing a team of Solution Advisors in developing conceptual solutions for large, complex and fast-paced Digital delivery initiatives. This individual will work with the various delivery stream leads, system architects  and business clients to identify an  overall system solution. The BSA provides high-level costs assessments and timeline impacts based on the solution. This role carries with it both a Planning and Execution requirement to ensure we meet project and program objectives.

 

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

  • Provide high level cost and time assessments for all work required to support projects
  • Clarifying business needs and solution requirements to identify and communicate solution alternatives and implications and provide pre-project hi-level time and cost assessments to Front Door (FD) teams
  • Implementation, evolution and management of strong Planning and Assessment processes and standards
  • Understand a client’s business application(s) and how they support the company
  • Reviewing the project charter and assisting Program or Project Managers with scope, dependencies and risk assessment
  • Program Planning for large scale IT and Business investments both on an annual and an ongoing basis
  • Reviewing and contributing to the BRD and developing and documenting the conceptual solution during the project phase, leveraging target or roadmap technologies and aligning with Bell IT, BPO and Corporate Security standards
  • Identify and explain any business risks relating to technology and make recommendations to minimize them
  • Engaging with other Bell IT teams and BSA to identify requirements and implications for other impacted  domains and communicating solution requirements to 3rd-party solution providers

 

Critical Qualifications / Competencies:

  • Strong team player with the ability to work with, and lead multi-disciplinary teams and on multiple projects
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent synthesis and analysis capacity
  • Detailed and results oriented with strong business acumen
  • Ability to gather, compile and analyze data to make practical recommendations at the tactical or strategic level
  • Possess initiative and the ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Takes accountability, responsible for own actions, demonstrate strong ethics and integrity, and practice consistent follow-through.
  • Level of Experience and Education Required:
    • College certificate or University degree in business administration, information technology or related disciplines
    • Significant understanding of Bell systems and solutions across a wide range of business functions.
    • 5+ years Experience with Telecom technical or IT technology solutions
