Bell's Network Engineering department is responsible for the development of Bell Media's diverse digital product portfolio. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to get hands on experience working on iOS applications for some of the biggest brands in Canada, including CTV, Comedy, Discovery and more.

Committed to adding talented professionals to our team, we are searching for enthusiastic and dynamic new graduates to help develop applications that are pushing the boundaries of Canada’s digital landscape.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Update existing iOS applications with new feature requests
  • Work on new product deployments based on existing product platforms
  • UAT apps to ensure full functionality for iOS updates
  • Provide ongoing support of existing production applications.
  • Work closely with Project Lead and members of the Development Team to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Communicate to the Development Lead with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.
  • Engage in outside‐the‐box thinking to provide innovative solutions
  • Create, revise and maintain design/technical documentation.

 

Critical Competencies

 

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with iOS development (iOS SDK, Objective C, Cocoa)
  • Solid understanding of web services (API design principles, REST, and SOAP‐WSDL)
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices: unit tests, test‐driven development, code review, continuous integration
  • Experience with planning and writing technical documentation
  • Knowledge and experience in standard test and troubleshooting methodology
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written; with peers, management, and external partners
  • Aptitudes with technical writing to provide documentation that is concise and accurate with clear language.
  • Fully versed in all office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong time management skills and work ethic (highly motivated) to manage multiple projects/accountabilities
  • Able to focus on multiple tasks concurrently with strong commitment to execution, effectively prioritizing and adapting in a fast‐paced challenging environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and team focus, with ability to lead and work within immediate, extended and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement in day‐to‐day work and take appropriate actions

 

Preferred Competencies

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and other Internet technologies
  • Knowledge of internet security and best practices
  • SQL and relationship database fundamentals
  • Experience with video streaming technologies
  • Experience using proxy tools (Charles, Fiddler, Wireshark)
