Position Description:

Bell Mobility is a leader in delivering wireless communication services to Canadians. With his new UMTS/HSPA network and existing PCS (CDMA) and 3rd generation (EV-DO) networks, Bell Mobility gives you the opportunity to learn about the wireless network of today and the future with the LTE network that is coming soon.

 

The GIS team manipulate data and produce  professional quality reports and maps for executive teams, engineering teams, sales teams, marketing teams and, on occasion, to external customers.

 

The successful candidate will report to the Manager – RF Network Support Engineering.

His/her duties will include the following:

 

Responsibilities:

  • This person converts in computerized requests and geographical projections all demands and questions in regards of network coverage to different business entities
  • This person will be responsible to maintain all necessary databases for geographical representations of network objects
  • This person is responsible to create and maintain existing relationships between business data and geographical objects
  • Answer all mapping demands from our business
  • Process management and all documentation related to our geographic information system (GIS)
  • Diffusion control of our critical business information
  • Ensure integrity and quality of maps and statistics delivered to upper business executives to take strategic decisions

 

Required competencies / essential skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, in geographic or DESS in GIS or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent professional experience
  • Teamwork ability
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Time and priority management skills
  • Bilingualism (French / English) is highly recommended
  • Knowledge of MapInfo mapping software is essential
  • Knowledge of other Mapping applications
  • Ability to manipulate data from various databases
