Hours of Work: Maximum 24 hours per week. Will include working evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
- Propose and develop original story ideas
- Shoots material, gathers information, writes scripts and edits stories in packaged or voice-over form.
- Assist with assignment desk responsibilities
- Assist with community relations as needed
- Provide assistance with news production as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two year's television news experience in a daily news environment preferred
- Graduate of or enrolled in a recognized college or university journalism program or equivalent experience.
- Experience with “live” presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide content to multiple digital platforms, including websites and social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Experience with ENG camera and editing with non-linear equipment
- Strong team player.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, curiosity and ability to take direction
- Creative storytelling skills and strong news judgement
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Valid G Class driver’s licence and a good driving record are required.
