Managing Editor – TSN.ca

Location:Agincourt

Salary:(Commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Hours of Work:40 hours per week. Overtime as required

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP, Executive Producer of TSN,
• Establish tsn.ca editorial vision and agenda
• Assess current & future needs & execution strategy
• Represent tsn.ca interests at senior level
• Manage & mentor staff of 18 (News & Features)
• Determine weight and scope of coverage of specific stories
• Conceive original content in all forms
• Reinforce tsn.ca as The Source of sports content & hub for all TSN sports content
• Perform hands-on editing & posting functions (in support role)
• Demand original thinking and content
• Ensure tsn.ca is on cutting edge of storytelling technology
• Delegate duties between Sr. Producer, News & Sr. Producer, Features
• Co-ordinate content with TV & Radio

 

Qualifications:

• Journalism Degree
• Minimum 10 years professional journalism experience at newspaper or news website
• Strong background in news
• Web journalism expertise
• Strong understanding of video news and video storytelling
• Journalism leadership experience
• Advanced editing skills
• Superior all-around sports knowledge
• Command of social media (twitter, facebook, hubbub, vine, snapchat & other emerging technologies)
