The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.
The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.
The Enterprise Architect is a pivotal position within the IT organization, and implies frequent interactions with all levels of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Define IT target architectures for various domains relative to Bell Business Markets, mainly in the BSS space
- Establish and document IT roadmaps and communicate them effectively to all stakeholders in order to gain alignment and momentum
- Participate in the due diligence process by providing guidelines and project signoff
- Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships at all levels of the company
- Responsible for understanding the organization needs of systems integration
- Work closely with larger EA community (BRS, Mobility, etc) to ensure high-level alignment of target architectures and roadmaps
- Work closely with BSA community to ensure proper alignment of conceptual solutions to target architecture
- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors in product selection and contract management
- Continuously grow breadth and depth of knowledge of BBM IT systems and industry best practices
- In some cases, be responsible for the solution implementation
- Sporadically, conduct tests to validate novelties (proof of concept)
- Provide necessary training and knowledge transfer
Critical Competencies
- Minimum of ten years in the field of information technology and at least 2 as enterprise architect
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent, a second cycle degree is considered an asset
- Ability to deal, on a daily basis, with senior management, peers and junior staff, both internally and externally, with business and professional skills in Information Technology.
- Ability to use a diplomatic approach to work with high level stakeholders and introduction of changes in the business
- Ability to communicate highly complex matters and adapt to the target audience and forum. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to clearly express and communicate concepts, designs and proposals.
- Ability to deal with a broad range of legacy and next generation technologies with the skills to recognize and exploit the advantages of both.
- Ability to conceptualize and think abstractly, and work and manage in a technically complex environment.
- Extensive experience in the full solutions development cycle
Preferred Competencies
- TOGAF certification is an asset
- Knowledge of TM Forum standards is an asset
- Written and oral communications skills in both English and French
