The Finance team supports the operational effectiveness of the company. The team is involved in analyzing financial figures, metrics and system and process issues to support major decisions within the business. The key groups within the Finance team include corporate and operational finance, internal teams support, the controllers group, internal audit and risk advisory services, taxation, treasury, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
Objective of this Team/Job:
The Finance Field Services team provides financial and analytical support for the Field Services organization, with the ultimate goal of delivering the Field Services financial plan and supporting strategic initiatives.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will actively participate in the development of the financial plan, monitor performance, and analyze & report on key drivers of the financial results for a set of operational groups within the Field Services organization.
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
- Work closely with client group to provide financial and analytical support in the delivery of financial targets.
- Responsible for accurate and timely month-end closure including preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Analyze and present monthly results, providing explanations to key variances – linkage to drivers: load, headcount, cost etc.
- Participate in the preparation and consolidation of financial forecasts including requisite documentation.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Over the course of the year, provide financial evaluations and recommendations regarding any issues within the budget.
- Perform value added variance analysis as part of the reporting process.
- Through analysis and collaboration, influence the achievement of the financial objectives.
- Interface with other finance groups to address information requirements, business issues and roadblocks.
Critical Qualifications / Competencies:
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (notably advanced Excel).
- Knowledge of SAP, BPC and BI.
- Exceptional team orientation and collaborative skills.
- Strong sense of autonomy, dynamic.
- Comfortable in ambiguous situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in Finance (2-3 years of relevant experience).
- Knowledge of the Field Services organization.
- Professional Accounting Designation or working towards certification.
- Bilingual (English & French).
