The Analyst - Supply Chain is part of the Supply Chain Operations team.  The Analyst - Supply Chain a key contributor to the corporate financial results by managing, controlling and optimizing Supply Chain inventory costs associated with the material purchased and repaired by Bell Canada.  The goal is to ensure that the highest level of customer service is maintained by having the right levels of stock at all times and avoiding backorders.

 

The Analyst - Supply Chain is part of a team within the Supply Chain Operations which serves various business markets including Network, Field Services, Outright Sales teams and Bell Internet. The Planner works closely with Procurement and Bell suppliers on a daily basis.

 

Key responsibilities:

Forecasts

  • Analyzing trends, historical data along with market information to create forecasts
  • Setting and changing forecasting parameters in SAP
  • Collecting forecasts from Product Managers, Technology Teams, Customer Groups, internal Bell teams on future demand

Financial Results

  • Execute plan to meet investment(Capital and Expense) and turns objectives
  • Maximizing redeployment of repaired stock
  • Minimize overstock/surplus material through recycling or resale channels

Process Improvement

  • Assisting as a subject matter expert and active member on projects
  • Analyzing slow & dead stock and disposal opportunities
  • Performing analysis on consumption, inventory holdings & pricing to make stock vs. non stock decision
  • Creating new reports or processes which would help Customers effectively manage their business

Customer Service

  • Meeting Line Fill and Whole Order Fill Rate targets
  • Responding back to Customer inquires in a timely manner
  • Resolving issues relating to backorders and product availability

Database Integrity

  • Maintaining parameters in Material Master in SAP
  • Assisting on non stock items when necessary
  • Co-ordinating change requests with Material Data team, Procurement, Technical Primes, Product Management

 

Critical competencies:

  • Self starter and energetic individual with good analytical skills
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to make quick independent decisions
  • Able to manage a large portfolio of products and multiple suppliers
  • Analytical thinker able to evaluate the impact of a decision on costs, inventory and customer service levels
  • Ability to communicate and interact with various levels of internal and external groups.  E.g. Procurement, Product Management, Technical Primes, Suppliers, customers, warehousing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software( Excel, Access, Visio, Outlook)
  • Team player
  • Time management skills

 

Preferred Competencies:

  • University/College degree preferably in inventory control/management or Supply Chain Management.  Similar work experience can be an acceptable
  • APICS or PMAC accreditation is a major asset
  • Knowledge and or experience in the telecommunication industry
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • SAP MM and MRP II environment knowledge an asset

 

Working Conditions:

  • Standard working hours with overtime required as necessary
  • Some travelling may be required in the GTA and Montreal
