Corporate Groups offers best practice services to support the organization, including Finance, Legal & Regulatory, Brand, Corporate Services – including HR, Communications, Real Estate, Security and Procurement & Value Creation.

The Director, Human Resources will focus on organizational development, talent management, leadership development, succession planning as it relates to an overall strategy to transform the business through “continuous improvement” best practices.

 

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience including human resources, operations, leadership and change management experience, in a large and multi-site company.

Prospective candidates will have significant business acumen with a broad understanding of and appreciation for the technical and functional components of human resources, including: talent acquisition and development; leadership and organizational development; diversity & inclusion; compensation and benefits; compliance; planning; labour relations; and employee training/career development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior management of the business unit to build and take responsibility for the Company’s talent development, assessment and review activities.
  • Ensure the effective team management of the business unit with regards to organizational effectiveness, organizational development, change management, and business strategy by acting as a facilitator/coach/trusted business partner to the executive team.
  • Provide forward-looking, human resources counsel to business leaders, in accordance with their business and future talent needs, human capital challenges and priorities, and identifying and advising on appropriate solutions.
  • Implement strategically relevant leadership development programs and processes that are aligned with the businesses current and future talent requirements.
  • Implement effective communication processes to ensure employees and leaders buy-in to new directions and are supported through cultural and situational change.
  • Provide the support that leaders require in order to obtain employee engagement in achieving Bell’s business objectives.
  • Identify best practices and emerging issues in the area of labour relations; and enhance and maintain a proactive strategy.
  • Incorporate best practices into current strategy and practices, as appropriate.
  • While supporting this important business unit, the successful candidate must ensure they become an integral part of the broader HR Management Team.

 

Provide strategic thought leadership in the design and delivery of organizational solutions that will include:

  • Articulate priorities;
  • Change management design and implementation;
  • Design and execution of change readiness and employee assessments;
  • Leadership development;
  • Team effectiveness enhancement;
  • Labour relations;
  • Communication strategy and deployment

 

Critical Competencies:

  • The individual will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (ideally in Industrial Relations) with an MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Working experience or ability to work in a complex and/or matrix environment is strongly preferred
  • Able to work effectively across functions and levels; strong interpersonal, presentation and leadership skills
  • Client service and satisfaction orientation: understands and is responsive to customer needs in both the long-term and short-term and moves quickly to resolve client issues as they arise.
  • Outstanding ability to plan, organize and execute.
  • Strong business acumen and drive to keep on top of the relevant business issues that affect the business.
  • In-depth experience in organizational development with an emphasis on learning analysis, design/development and evaluation of learning and development frameworks in a large unionized environment.
  • Solid knowledge of organizational change management including preparation of clear statements of work aligned to strategies and project management.
  • Results Orientation: Strong track record of delivery with strong reputation as a reliable “executive” able to implement organizational development initiatives in growing, complex organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
