Information on Division/Hiring Department/Career Opportunity: The Corporate System IT delivery group work with Bell business lines in the areas of PCI compliance, SAP Infrastructure, HR, Security, and Procurement, to create and deliver efficient, timely and cost effective business solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and disciplined individual to join our team of project managers, business analysts, and technical experts that have a strong understanding of the key business process. We consistently try to embody ability, motivation and attitude.
Job duties / accountabilities:
- The immediate assignment would be a combination of project and program management, focussed within the Corporate Systems work program.
- Essential skills / competencies:
- Oversee project selection, initiation and progress.
- Focus on financial management and drive financial predictability and accuracy, with an accountability on maintaining management scorecard.
- Facilitate appropriate action plans to improve results.
- Proactively address evolving business requirements and priorities to help IT address the right priorities.
- Enable easier strategic decision making by providing timely, accurate, pertinent, integrated program management views and analysis.
- Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects leveraging industry best practices and project management disciplines.
- Manage client interaction and expectations for assigned program and projects.
- Manage scope, actively identifying and managing Changes.
- Actively identify and manage project risks to minimize exposure.
- Manage project financials, and ensures accurate invoicing documentation for all projects under his/her direction.
- Ensure internal staff and customers are provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.
- Scope solutions, including time & cost estimates and development of task lists/plans.
- Work across teams to share lessons learned and best practices.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for team members and peers
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders
- Lead project team members across multiple work streams toward key deliverables
- Gather project funding requirements, develop business cases and present at various councils and committees for review and approval
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- The successful candidate must have:
- At least seven (7) years Program/project management experience and a demonstrated track record in large complex IT programs and projects, working with virtual teams across multiple geographic locations
- Working knowledge of Human Resource key principals would be an asset
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence key principals would be an asset
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills – experience preparing and delivering management presentations and reports
- Exemplary customer service skills – strong desire to help internal and external users
- Strong positive, can-do attitude
- Prefers to work in a fast-paced environment and be a member of a closely-knit, high performance team
- Desire to learn and become familiar with new technologies; assimilate knowledge quickly and effectively
- PMP Certification is preferred, but will consider applicants who can demonstrate they are actively pursuing that designation.
- Self-motivated with a strong tolerance to ambiguity and change.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects
- Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities
- Ability to travel within Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto corridors depending on project needs
