The Bell Residential Services team is in the business of enabling customers to connect with people, information and entertainment by delivering integrated products and service experience for consumers while enhancing our competitiveness in the marketplace.  The team provides customers with Bell Home phone, local and long distance services, Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Bell Fibe TV.

 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Behavioral Analytics, the Specialist will support the VOD and PPV marketing teams in terms of business performance, analytics, forecasting and reporting.  In an ever-changing and dynamic environment, they need to be flexible, have strong time management skills and be capable of balancing many projects simultaneously with short deadlines for completion.  They are detail oriented, strategic and analytical with the ability to communicate effectively to senior executives.   This high performing individual needs to have demonstrated success with influencing and delivering results with cross functional teams.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the story about the performance of the business based on analytics
  • Monitor VOD and PPV business performance and identify opportunities to improve the main KPIs
  • Provide reporting and analytics support to the marketing team
  • Work with other VOD team members to build business cases
  • Lead business planning for PPV and VOD, including monthly and annual budget and forecast
  • Provide actionable insights to the marketing teams to increase overall engagement on the VOD platform
  • Support strategy and marketing reviews with key subscriber insights and recommendations
  • Liaise directly with Finance on both reported and forecasted revenues
  • Providing support for and analysis of weekly base subscriber results, ensuring timeliness & accuracy of inputs for Executive results review
  • Analyzing competitive performance and industry trends related to PPV and VOD 
  • Analyzing subscriber results looking for emerging trends and proactively sharing these findings and recommendations with key stakeholders to drive the business forward
  • Presentations to senior executives on results and forecasted revenues

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • University degree in business, finance, economics, statistics/math, marketing or a related area; MBA or professional designation preferred
  • 3-5 years experience with business analytics,  financial models and/or forecasting models, specifically in the telecommunications industry
  • Very strong analytical, mathematical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build compelling, executive-level presentations and to deliver recommendations with confidence
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills, including the ability to synthesize large amounts of data
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and ability to transform raw data into actionable insights
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at various levels of the organization
  • Self-starter, with the ability to manage and drive projects with limited supervision and to manage multiple projects in an organized manner
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint & Excel specifically
  • Knowledge of data manipulation languages and tools: SQL, SAS

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Previous experience in Data mining /product management / finance, ideally in the telecom field
  • Deadline oriented
  • Fluency in both official languages would be considered an asset
