The Business Development Radio communication group within Bell Mobility is currently seeking applicants for a Pre-Sales Engineer to join their leadership team in Montréal to assume this exciting opportunity.
The Pre-Sales Engineer will understand and participate in implementation co-ordination, project budget management, negotiating vendor / partnering agreements, interaction with regulatory agencies such as ISC, interaction with all Mobility family functional groups, interaction with customers both for sales support and project implementation and providing technical documentation, support and training to others. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching communications hardware and application software advancements to maintain technical expertise and familiarity with advancements in technology.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Effectively work in close partnership with our Business Development team to develop innovative Land Mobile Radio solutions using innovative practices to support business growth
- Manage the completion of Request For Proposal (RFP) responses that ensure compliancy and competitiveness in the market
- Build efficient links with our Engineering team to leverage the current technology all while looking to support the move to next generation Radio technologies
- Develop strong links with Bell Mobility Radio’s suppliers to maximize our understanding and implementation in Public Safety applications
- Implement solutions using best in class Project Management practices that will maximize quality, minimize risk and deliver consistently high quality solutions
The Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for:
- Evaluating requirements and recommending effective solutions
- Preparing risk analysis and budgetary opportunity value
- Developing technical proposals in response to customer requirements
- System design
- Detailed engineering
- Service / component selection and preparing detailed proposal costing
- Assist in creating written responses to customer RFQ and RFPs
Essential skills and abilities:
- The successful candidate will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering
- Eligible for registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
- 3-5 years experience in radio systems engineering, project management and technical sales support
- Knowledge and understanding of 2-way digital trunked radio and IP technology are definite assets
- Demonstrated verbal and written
