Our  Customer Operations team is responsible for strategy, design and delivery of core call centre tools and processes, including queue strategy, routing, and call monitoring tools.

About the Role:

  • The Data Scientist will be a key member of the Bell Business Intelligence Discovery Analytics Team.  The Data Scientist will work closely with business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end Big Data analytics for Residential Services Loyalty & Retention and Client Experience. 

 

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Lead analytics projects working as the BI liaison to other business units in Bell.
  • Data cleansing and data quality/integrity testing to prepare data for general analytical use.
  • Work in an iterative environment to solve extremely challenging business problems.
  • Drive BI self-serve with other business units in Bell using tools like Microstrategy and Tableau.
  • Documentation of all analytical processes created.
  • Stay current with on the latest Big Data and analytics research and technology trends

 

Essential Skills:

  • Degrees with a balanced focus between technical and business related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in the Telecom industry
  • Advanced analytics in any of the following areas leveraging large-scale, high dimensional data: Predictive modeling, machine learning, forecasting, network analysis, recommendation engines, optimization models, NP hard problems.
  • Dig deeper into data, understand characteristics of data, evaluate alternate models and validate hypostheses
  • Technical subject matter expertise in any of the following areas: Statistics, Graph Theory.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience using the Hadoop tool set such as Pig, Hive, Map Reduce, Java, Spark, etc. (3+ years)
  • Productionize proven or working models into production quality code
  • Experience with any of the above responsibilities or Cloudera specific tools is preferred
  • And must be a team player and fit well with the Bell Business Intelligence culture!
