The Data Loss Prevention Analyst will be responsible for the daily monitoring and maintenance of the enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) solution.  The person in this role will work with incident response and networking professionals and will be responsible for day-to-day management of the solution and of the alerts coming from the DLP system.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Monitor alerts generated from DLP and other technologies
  • Understand and follow the incident response process through event escalations
  • Implement, document, and maintain DLP policies / rules / processes.
  • Produce weekly and monthly operational metrics reports
  • Follow the processes to support the DLP environment
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements (PCI, PIPEDA, etc.)
  • Work with vendors and internal customers to respond to escalations

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of network and host based DLP technology
  • Good understanding of DLP policy / rule creation
  • Working knowledge of various regulatory requirements such as PCI, PIPEDA, etc.
  • Excellent team skills and integrity in a professional environment
  • Good social, communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset
  • Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain is preferred

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relative work experience.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years in a dedicated IT security role with at least 2-3 years focused in one or more of the following:
  • DLP technology and methodology
  • Operation of DLP in an enterprise environment including end-point and network based technologies
  • Operational responsibilities within a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
  • Member of an Incident Response team (CSIRT)

 

Certification Requirements:

Professional certifications: such as the CISSP, GCIA, CISM, CISA or DLP specific certifications such as (Symantec, McAfee and RSA) are a plus.
