Position: Producer, CTV Question Period – 8 months contract
Location: CTV – Ottawa News Bureau
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: Varied – includes Saturday and Sunday
Responsibilities:
• Work with editorial staff to manage CTV News activities with particular responsibility for Question Period
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts
• Generate story ideas with a political emphasis
• Report, conduct research, book guests as needed
• Oversee shooting and editing of news material
• Field Produce news items, remote segments or events
• Other duties as required
Qualifications:
• Journalism degree or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of television production techniques
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian politics
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communications and writing skills
• Ability to travel on short notice
• Bilingual (French), other languages an asset
• Strong leadership skills
