Includes corporate and operational finance, internal teams support, the controllers group, internal audit and risk advisory services, taxation, treasury, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions.

 

The Bell Business Markets (BBM) Finance Department consists of highly engaged professionals driving business results with integrity through objective value and analysis and advice.

 

The objectives of the BBM Finance department are to:

1. Provide quality analysis and recommendations to Bell Management, key stakeholders, and internal customers while thriving in social situations

2. Provide accurate and timely reporting of results with detailed analysis

3. Persuade with data to create shareholder value.

 

Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

  • Direct and lead all functions of a dynamic team (1 direct report) to deliver against accountabilities at a high standard
  • Owner of the Mid Market gross margin results package and month end reporting process. Responsible for presentation of the material to Finance and business leaders
  • Ensure the accuracy of results – approving accruals and provisions as required
  • Creation and tracking of sales opportunity lists in various products and services, partnering with sales to identify these areas
  • Full analysis of material credit activity to ensure all issues are interpreted and calculated in the best light possible for Bell
  • Partner with the Controllers Team to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Execute and manage the financial reporting process.  This includes the monthly analysis of revenue by product and by sales channel/region to understand variances to forecast and budget
  • Accountable for the reporting and planning of key volume metrics including voice and internet sub counts
  • Drive forecasting and planning processes (monthly / qtrly / annual). Specifically, on the monthly revenue forecast, drive alignment with product and sales to ensure an interlocked forecast. Provide recommendations to management on what to forecast, identify opportunities /risks and manage them accordingly
  • Develop and lead the implementation of continuous improvements to increase financial and operational performance
  • Understand the key business drivers and develop financial models that allow for sensitivity analysis around these key drivers
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to management to guide superior decision making
  • Drive the Financial portion of the budgeting process in conjunction with all functions
  • Develop, design and manage revenue assurance processes to ensure completeness and timeliness
  • Identify and lead the evolution of long range overall business planning models

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • An accounting designation or MBA coupled with at least five years of well rounded accounting and financial management experience
  • Strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Passion about their profession and ability to create a fun environment to work in under demanding timelines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate analytical results and tell a story
  • Strong sense of urgency and a proven history of relentless execution
  • Experience and understanding of how to effectively manage change, integration and improvement projects
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable dealing with Senior Management, excellent interpersonal skills, enabling attitude
  • Self motivated and autonomous
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities in a complex environment

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Post Secondary Degree with a focus in Finance/Accounting
  • Staff Leadership experience
