Our Legal and Regulatory team includes regulatory and government affairs, as well as legal teams with specialties supporting various areas of the organization.
Under the supervision of the Assistant General Counsel, the contracts administrator will have the mandate to draw up agreements with producers and distributors for acquisitions of rights to broadcast television and digital content.
Main responsibilities:
- The Department assumes contractual management of various agreements relating to the operation of several French-language specialty and pay television and digital platforms. Therefore, the administrator will:
- Review and negotiate licensing contracts issued by distributors and external producers.
- Prepare and monitor license agreements and related contracts with distributors/producers of audiovisual works.
- Work closely with legal counsels and the various departments involved (programming, digital media, finance, etc.) in the preparation and management of contracts.
- Ensure the proper management of acquired rights.
- Perform other related duties.
Skills required:
- University degree - first cycle.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the relevant field, including 3 years in negotiation and drafting of contracts.
- Experience in television and digital administrative field.
- Knowledge of issues related to new distribution platforms.
- Bilingual spoken and written.
- Highly organized and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Easiness in developing cordial relations with industry stakeholders and co-workers.
- Team player.
- Quick learner, excellent judgment, initiative, resourcefulness and good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ease and interest in working with new software.
- Knowledge of software LOUISE an asset.
