The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

The Bell Canada Information Technology Delivery Team is looking for a Senior Business Solution Architect to support the Blueprints Program. The Blueprints Program manages and develops the workflow and diagnostic tools for call centre agents and field technicians.  Through multiple backend integrations, it automates the collection and interpretation of customer data and offers actionable recommendations in both desktop and mobile web applications to ensure a consistent and structured call flow. 

 

The successful candidates will directly work with business owners, vendors and our internal development team to design end to end solutions to meet business needs.  The candidate will be accountable to work with external vendors such as CGI, Amdocs and IBM. We require a highly motivated individual, who thrives in a constantly changing and exciting environment, to apply creativity and innovation in the development of solutions essential to support our overall Call Centre divisions, and is able to able to lead change through cross-functional teams or business unit projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Clarify business needs and solution requirements to identify and communicate solution alternatives and implications and provide pre-project hi-level time and cost assessments to Front Door (FD) teams
  • Prepare and present presentations and to share business and technology domain insight with Bell IT and business owners
  • Review project charters and assist the Project Manager (PM) with scope, dependencies and risk assessment
  • Review and contribute to business requirements and the development of conceptual solutions
  • Engage other Bell IT teams to identify requirements and implications for other impacted  domains and communicate solution requirements to 3rd-party solution providers
  • Act in a consulting/advisory role to business owners on the most effective way to meet their business needs through our technologies
  • Reviewing Change Requests  for implications and recommending solutions
  • Engage Bell IT and Business Unit (BU) stakeholders to contribute to, formulate, communicate and execute on technology roadmap and solution direction
  • Evaluate enhanced and new technologies

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as a Business Solution Architect, or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of technology, applications and Customer Operations
  • Knowledge of the application frameworks and web technologies
  • Excellent facilitation skills and including the ability to clarify and communicate business and technology requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and including the ability to simplify and communicate complex technology issues for Bell IT and BU sponsors, stakeholders and project delivery teams
  • Analytical, detail focused and able to see the ‘big picture’
  • Must have Bachelors or equivalent knowledge of Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with a variety of specific tools and toolkits for development and support of applications.
  • Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced applications.
  • Attention to details in system analysis/design and problem resolutions.

 

 

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills (ability to quickly determine the problem space and organize it into simple components through data mining, statistical analysis and quantitative analysis)
  • Strong technical writing skills (ability to write clearly and concisely)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (ability to uncover trouble rapidly and provide resolution)
  • Proven leadership and organization skills
  • Excellent ability to articulate and document technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Autonomous, resourceful, strong tolerance to ambiguity, excellent capacity for applied learning

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects with geographically dispersed team members.
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities
  • Ability to travel within Montreal, Ottawa, London and Toronto corridors with little advance notification; travel depending on project needs
  • Fast paced, changing working environment
