Name and description of the hiring department:
Bell National Hosting Services (NHS) provides collocation and managed services to Bell Business Markets customers nationally. Operating data centers in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary, Bell offers IT solutions to both mid and enterprise market customers. Services provided range from space, power, cooling, physical security, internet, firewalls, backup/restore, managed virtual servers and a variety of applications. All solutions are architected with multiple levels of redundancy, significant scalability and overall high availability. Customers are supported through a 24*7 Network Operations Centre and are backed up by an industry leading service level agreement.

Job description:
Reporting to Associate Director of Managed Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leading the Day 2 Network support team. The candidate will be able to balance both leadership skills and the necessary technical skills to manage and support technical resources and the NHS national network infrastructure including ownership of Core Routing and Switching network, Internal and customer facing firewall, and load balancers and associated infrastructures.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the network team supporting business hours and 24 x 7 rotational on-call.
- Support of NHS internal network including the National Management Network and associated integration with Data Centre systems.
- Support customer networks including switching, firewalls, load balancers, and various other network based appliances.
- Monitor and manage the internal and upstream capacity on internal and external networks
- Build strong relationship and coordination procedures with NHS teams (Server/App and NOC team) to support the NHS business and customers effectively
- Work closely with NHS architecture and engineering teams for complex deployments and infrastructure upgrades/modifications
- Maintain standards nationally at all Data Center facilities.
- Responsible for leading Level 3 support for incident and request management
- Responsible for participation in Change Management procedures including but not limited to peer reviewing method of procedures and participating in weekly meetings.
- Manage resource availability for support of existing clients, deployment of new clients, and internal projects.
- Familiar with service provider network

Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; calm, polite and professional
- Experience leading a technical team providing technical guidance and support
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
- Bilingualism (English/French)
- Good knowledge of hosting marketplace
- Service oriented, adaptable and resilient
- Excellent attention to detail, quality and control
- Analytical thinker with the ability to define and present information (ie KPI’s)

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years network experience in a data center and managed IT services environment
- Knowledge of data center environments (N +1 power , HVAC)
- College or University Degree focusing on the discipline of telecommunication or engineering
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco technologies ( CCIE would be an asset )
- Advanced knowledge of IP networking
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols ( BGP, EIGRP , OSPF )
- Knowledge and experience in the hosting market
- Understanding of the elements and concepts of network security: Firewall , IDS / IPS , load balancer (Cisco ) , ACLs
- Knowledge of WAN technologies : MPLS ,DWDM
- Good knowledge of servers (physical and virtual) as well as different operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Experience in the implementation and support of high availability environments
- Experience in a 24 x 7 environment

Other Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of Bell Canada processes and systems an advantage
- Skilled in operation of MS Office, Project and ability to familiarize and work with internal Bell order processing tools.
- Capable of building an informal knowledge network to assist in their knowledge and development within Bell Canada
