Bell Business Markets provides a vast array of communications solutions for small, medium, and large organizations. These include managed data and network solutions, cloud computing, conferencing, Web, security solutions and integrated information and communications technology (ICT) services.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the incumbent acts as a technical leader responsible for the design, delivery and infrastructure development supporting our business customers’ environments. Part of the Converged Infrastructure Services (CIS), the position represents a great challenge from a technological point of view and is a key factor in the success of the portfolio of Professional Services.
Your responsibilities will be:
Governance/Architecture
- Maintain the business requirement roadmap
- Integrate the different technology layers in an overall architecture
- Understand IT market evolution and how it translates to the business
- Stay abreast of leading-edge data network technologies, and of the IT systems and applications used in the industry.
- Technology lead in new projects
- Participate in IT governance milestone
Technical Autority
- Lead the technical virtual team assigned to a client/project. Assume responsibility for the technological directions, architecture, deployment/migration and strategic plans for our business customers’ environments
- Validate detailed engineering plans designed by the team of specialists (SMEs) and ensure it aligns with overall architecture and strategic plan established for customers
- Oversee all IT projects and provide direction/recommendations
- Lead the delivery of large and complex projects
- Technology reference for the client environment. Exercise leadership and technology expert role with internal teams (operation teams, technical specialists, project management, sales), customers, third-party providers and vendors
- Validate delivery strategy of complex projects
- Participate in problem-solving and resolution of architecture related problems
- Oversee the evolution of scope during delivery and adapt the strategy and deployment/migration plans consequently
- Act as technical authority to Managed Services customers. Take responsibility for the development of solutions and their integration into customer environments and with the operating teams involved.
- Evaluate costs and efforts for proposed solutions / recommendations
- Elaborate and document technical aspects of client proposals.
- Communicate with various internal and external teams (suppliers, partners) involved with customers
- Guarantees excellent business relationship with customer and customer satisfaction
- Promote and identify opportunities for organic growth.
Your knowledge / skills are:
- Expertise in IP networks
security - Technical skills in products and technologies such as Cisco , Avaya, HP, etc.
- Skills in designing and deploying solutions , configuring telecommunications hardware and laboratory tests (proof of concept)
Knowledge of applications related to telecommunications such as WAN, IP telephony, wireless services (WiFi), security infrastructure, data center, stockage,system management platforms, cellular, UC/collaboration, telepresence, etc - Strong planning skills to prioritize activities in order of importance
- Interest in acquiring technical and commercial knowledge of one or more customers
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong Leadership

- Ability to work in a very dynamic and constant growing environment
- Bilingual English and French (reading, writing, speaking)
Knowledge and training required :
- Degree in electrical engineering or computer science , or a degree from a specialized technical school
- Intermediate Cisco Certification (CCNP, CCDP, CCVP)
- Certifications recognized by major manufacturers (Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya, etc.)
- Knowledge of office system software (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Visio)
- Business Acumen
Experience required:
- 5 years experience in the design and deployment of LAN/WAN technologies
- 5 years experience relevant experience in direct contact with customers in professional services context
Assets for this position are:
- Knowledge of products and services from Bell Canada
- Knowledge of products from the major manufacturers in the telecommunication industry
- Knowledge of emerging products and services
- Knowledge of standard network protocols : standard wiring, Ethernet / IP technologies,routing protocols EIGRP, BGP and MPLS, etc.
- Knowledge of DNS / DHCP services, MS Active Directory, SAN , cellular data networks (1X- EVDO) , Internet proxy (proxy , reverse proxy ) , XML bridges, middleware products, virtualization, etc.
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
