Within the Bell Mobility family, the Wireless Access Engineering and Operations group is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for managing a regional RF Engineering team. This position will offer the selected candidate the opportunity to be a key player in the deployment of our rapidly evolving wireless network. The selected candidate will have the ability to take full accountability for the design, optimization and performance of a large region for one of the most advanced LTE-A networks in the world. The ideal candidate will leverage opportunities to develop their leadership skills while developing talents in his area of influence.

Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Director, RF Engineering and Network Performance, the Regional RF Engineering and Network Performance Manager will be accountable for leading all RF engineering, optimization and network performance functions for macro, micro, pico and in-building sites related to coverage, capacity and quality for CDMA, HSPA and LTE in a specific region/territory. They will lead a team of high performing and technical expert RF engineers to ensure we design and optimize that territory to the national standards and achieve the best network goal with our field and network metrics.

 

Job Duties/Accountabilities

 

  • RF Nominal Design (macro, micro, pico, in-building)
  • RF Detailed Design (macro, micro, pico, in-building)
  • RF Pre and Post Launch Site / Cluster Optimization
  • Regional Network Performance
  • Special Events Design and Performance
  • RF network customer support and escalation
  • Functional OPEX budget management

 

Experience and Educational Requirements:

 

  • University degree in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent, continuing education or graduate degree in management is an asset
  • Minimum 7 years experience in wireless telecommunications, focused on RF Planning, Design, Optimization and Performance for HSPA and LTE, including at least two years leading teams at the manager level (preferred)
  • Proven people leadership, and ability to build partnership with key stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of wireless technology and best practices pertaining to RF Engineering and Network Performance. High technical proficiency in LTE and LTE-A
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Autonomy and sense of decision making
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French is considered a strong asset.

 

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
