Position: Media Technology Analyst
Location: 9 Channel Nine Court, Toronto (Ontario)
Salary: Group 7 (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Responsabilities:
- Primarily responsible for the Operation day-to-day support for Bell Media Live Video Transport between Remote Stations and their Master Control points and beyond
- Implementation of Video Transport Related Projects under the Control of the NTS Project Management Team
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures and configurations
- Monitor system and network elements using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting procedures; perform diagnostics of system hardware and software components
- Maintain documentation of routine maintenance utilizing CAD, systems configuration, applications, and technical reference material, and perform general systems administration
- Availability to carry scheduled “On-Call” responsibilities
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a television broadcast environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge with computer aided design tools
- Working knowledge of traditional broadcast transmission technologies and Quality Control (QC) tools/systems
- Exposure to advanced video broadcast technologies an asset (IPTV, IGMP, MPEG2, H.264, xWDM)
- File based workflows for media transport and storage experience is beneficial
- Strong communication, technical writing, and documentation skills
- Facilitates effective team interaction
- Operating systems Windows and Linux knowledge an asset
- Exposure to Cisco Networking or CCNA certification an Asset
- Familiarity with Imagine and Evertz Products an Asset
