Bell Business Markets provides a vast array of communications solutions for small, medium, and large organizations. These include managed data and network solutions, cloud computing, conferencing, Web, security solutions and integrated information and communications technology (ICT) services.

 

The Pre-Sales Engineering team is responsible for designing and preparing implementation of customized solutions (networking and voice) for corporate customers in partnership with an industry vertical sales team.

 

Job duties / accountabilities:

  • Acts as a leader and mobilizes the customer team, in order to convert business needs into solutions and services offered by Bell ( IP Networks, Telephony, and IT).
  • Accountable for the technological aspect of a solution, your mandate is to accompany customers in the development of complex solutions in pre-sales mode and ensure short and long term business relationships & customer satisfaction.
  • Keep abreast of leading edge technology in the specific market/industry of your customers.
  • Assume responsibility for technical studies/recommendations covering overall customer IT applications, voice & network.
  • Design networking and IP telephony solutions:  evaluates business needs, identifies any stakes, conception and integration of potential solutions (including design, determination of the optimal solution and development of detailed equipment list), finally write the final proposition and communicate with implementation team.

 

Essential skills / competencies:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry more specifically in the following fields: LAN, WAN, IP Telephony, Wireless & security technologies
  • Thorough knowledge of unified communications

  • Knowledge and training:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/computer science
  • Professional level certifications for major manufacturers (ex: CCNP, CCDP, CCVP or equivalent)
  • Subject matter expert for one networking or telephony technology
  • Knowledge on several networking or telephony related technologies
  • Business acumen
  • Contribution on large Request for Proposal (RFP) or complex propositions
  • Collaboration on customer demonstration or development of proof of concept
  • Microsoft Visio

 

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of pre-sales solution design and customer facing experience
  • Excellent autonomy
  • Experienced in Professional Services positioning
  • Ability to work in highly political customer environment
  • Development of customers network (LAN/WAN) and telephony solutions related to emerging technologies
  • Pertinent experience in the field of pre-sales consulting services is considered an asset
  • Ability to provide coaching

  • Technical know-how:  general knowledge of Bell products and services
  • Data Centre Architecture: Data Centre Switching (Virtual switching), Servers (ie: HP, Cisco UCS, IBM), and Storage (ie: NetApp, EMC, HP)
  • Network services/protocols (Access/transport): MPLS, Ethernet, Multicast, Network management, WAN accelerator, Internet access
  • Operating systems, Windows, data center, SAN, Citrix, VMWare
  • Voice services: IP Telephony for Avaya, Mitel, Nortel and Cisco, SIP trunking, OCS, PBX, Centrex
