Our Network team plans, designs, builds and operates Bell’s multi-billion dollar networks, including the continued expansion of our fibre optic network, HSPA+ and LTE — Canada’s largest and fastest wireless network.

The Bell Canada Network 3.0 team is looking for Scrum Masters / Agile Senior Project Managers to drive the delivery of Network 3.0 value streams. Candidates should be self motivated, open minded and a passion for creativity. The successful candidate will partner closely with the product owner and architecture team in order to deliver the most value for the customer, in line with the Network 3.0 vision. The successful candidates will work with multi-disciplinary teams from across the organization, utilizing the Scrum/Agile techniques. The candidate must have a technical background complimented with strong business experience.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Work closely with Network 3.0 Stream Lead and Architecture team to understand the positioning of the deliverables in the target architecture and high-level execution plan
- Work closely with the Product Owner to manage backlog and understand long term Product strategy
- Defining project scope and objectives. Overseeing / coordinating all aspects of the project. Planning and directing schedules as well as project budgets.
- Setting and maintaining client expectations on scope, timeline and budget; building a collaborative and constructive relationship with client teams.
- Providing visibility to team impediments/risks and assisting with eliminating them
- Coaching and mentoring team members and providing constructive performance feedback
- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving;
- Tracking and reporting status and other metrics against goals on an ongoing basis
- Helping teams achieve project goals while being aware of and sensitive to the overall business goals
- Facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
- Helping developers and testers with task estimation in sprint planning sessions
- Assisting product owners and teams in release planning and maintaining the release/sprint backlogs
- Reviewing with team regular performance updates and/or reviews for identifications of variances and corrective actions
- Raising concerns based on measurement criteria to supervision and provides recommendations to maximize productivity
- Interfacing with offshore teams through onsite representatives
- Ability to coach new scrum masters in order to develop capability across the company
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong dedication to customer focus
- Background in Scrum Master and Agile practices and theory
- Experience in providing consulting, leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, team empowerment, motivational techniques and,
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a fluid team environment
- At least 3-5 years previous experience as a Project Manager / Scrum Master role
- Extensive experience in managing project delivery involving multi-tiered systems integration.
- Strong analytical/conceptual skills
- Ability to gain management support and work effectively at all levels across the organization and across departments within our organization
- Ability to handle ambiguity and rapid change
- Superior problem solving skills and ability to coach team members through problem solving
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Sound business acumen
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering and executing on key projects through cross functional teams
- Knowledge of Bell Canada’s Products & Services as well as Network & IT environment.
Working Conditions:
Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities. Fast paced, changing working environment.
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
