Within Bell Media, the finance manager plays a critical role in the financial management and reporting of business units. We are looking for a dynamic and responsible self-starter, who is detail-oriented and can work collaboratively with others. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Finance, Bell Media English Sports, the candidate will monitor and evaluate financial performance by conducting financial analyses, planning and forecasting, along with preparation of management reporting.

Key Functions:
- Oversee the completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting functions, including preparation/review of results, journal entries, variance analysis, review of balance sheet reconciliations and other items as needed
- Assist in the development/preparation of annual budgets and monthly and quarterly forecasts
- Support for financial statement disclosure requirements and internal reporting
- Perform ad-hoc analysis, build business models and create special reports to support key business decisions
- Assist in the preparation/review of annual CRTC returns
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with operational teams in order to identify/validate key business assumptions and incorporate them into financial models/reports
Required Qualifications/Competencies:
- Will either have completed, or be close to completing the CPA designation
- Good understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Be able to critically analyze results and reports, and identify issues that require escalation
- Be comfortable with a fast-paced environment with constant changes
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues
- Experience and expertise with Excel is critical
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in broadcasting/media industry is helpful, but not essential
- Knowledge of SAP and BPC is helpful
- Awareness of major sports is helpful, but not required
- The ideal candidate will have aptitude and interest in developing their skills for a progressive leadership role in the future
