The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

The IT Billing and Desktop organization is a fast paced and dynamic team within the Client Experience Information Technology organization which delivers projects to enhance customer/agent experience and  improve system performance.  The team is made up of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Primes, and Business Solution Advisors accountable to plan and deliver projects in the Bell Residential Services (BRS) and Mobility program.
The Billing and Desktop team is looking for a Business Analyst Systems (BAS).  This role will require the successful candidate to work closely with other team members such as Solutions Architects, Project Managers and Developers. The Business Analyst Systems (BAS) is accountable to gather, document, and analyse business and systems requirements for developing and implementing solutions for IT’s business partners.  The successful candidate will deliver projects to support Call Centre and Client Experience programs. We require a highly motivated individual who thrives in a constantly changing and exciting environment to support Bell’s current & future success.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Work closely with business partners to identify and define detailed business requirements
  • Gather, produce and deliver detailed Business Requirements Document (BRD) for new functionality and system changes
  • Effectively document and communicate business requirements to all necessary parties throughout the development life cycle, to ensure business needs are met
  • Acquire deep knowledge of systems and their interdependencies to drive improved efficiencies
  • Ability to facilitate work sessions and interview subject matter experts to identify project requirements
  • Development and documentation of System Requirements Specification (SRS)
  • Understand technical designs and specifications that comply to architecture models
  • Drive the technical resolution of issues arising from changes to scope and requirements
  • Identify and quantify risks relevant to business and systems requirements
  • Create test plans and execute test cases including defining test conditions, negative testing and regression testing 
  • Support the implementation of projects into production

 

Critical Competencies:

 

  • Minimum 5 years Business Analyst Systems experience
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply critical thinking to problem solving and decision making
  • Effectively negotiate and positively influence decision making to drive change
  • Be a dynamic collaborator with multiple project team members (Project Managers, other BA’s, Architecture, Business Sponsors, etc.) and effectively balance competing priorities and timelines
  • Effectively communicate business requirements, gaps, technical solutions, defects, and risks with internal IT teams and vendors
  • Have the ability to identify, explore and evaluate options on processes, methodologies and information technology solutions in order to support the design of new systems and develop feasible recommendations
  • Be highly self-motivated and self-directed with proven leadership skills
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Independently prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines
  • Have ability to motivate team and promote team spirit
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills; being able to explain and present technical information in a clear, accurate and understandable manner
  • Effectively troubleshoot and learn new technologies
  • Be comfortable challenging the status quo and think outside the box
  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Flexible with an ability to work in an environment where “change” is prevalent
  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects and aggressive timelines
  • Ability to work extended / off-normal hours to meet project deliverables
  • Ability to travel occasionally within Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal corridor
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)

 

Preferred Competencies:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

  • Bell Contact Centre experience
  • Bell Desktop and Billing system knowledge
  • Knowledge of Mobility and Residential markets
  • Business Analyst Certification

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
