Producer, Consumer Unit (Maternity Leave)

CTV Vancouver

            

Location: Vancouver, BC

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, must be available to work a vriety of shifts including weekends.

Salary: Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.

             

Responsibilities:            

  • Produce compelling television news stories and segments for CTV Vancouver’s On Your Side unit
  • Set up and conduct engaging and well-researched interviews
  • Work with reporter to write exciting and accurate television news scripts that are relevant to a Metro Vancouver audience
  • Generate highly interesting and unique story ideas on a daily basis for this very successful news unit
  • Conduct research, establish contacts and maintain a detailed story production schedule
  • Contribute to online/website and social media coverage
  • Follow up on story tips and maintain regular communication with viewers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum 3 years producing television news
  • Degree or diploma in Broadcast Journalism
  • Strong editorial judgement and creativity
  • Strong understanding of Metro Vancouver issues and BC politics
  • Proven ability to produce compelling news stories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent knowledge of television production requirements, media law and computer skills
  • Knowledge of online publishing tools an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
