Producer, Consumer Unit (Maternity Leave)
CTV Vancouver
Location: Vancouver, BC
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, must be available to work a vriety of shifts including weekends.
Salary: Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Produce compelling television news stories and segments for CTV Vancouver’s On Your Side unit
- Set up and conduct engaging and well-researched interviews
- Work with reporter to write exciting and accurate television news scripts that are relevant to a Metro Vancouver audience
- Generate highly interesting and unique story ideas on a daily basis for this very successful news unit
- Conduct research, establish contacts and maintain a detailed story production schedule
- Contribute to online/website and social media coverage
- Follow up on story tips and maintain regular communication with viewers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years producing television news
- Degree or diploma in Broadcast Journalism
- Strong editorial judgement and creativity
- Strong understanding of Metro Vancouver issues and BC politics
- Proven ability to produce compelling news stories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent knowledge of television production requirements, media law and computer skills
- Knowledge of online publishing tools an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, communication and time management skills
- Ability to work well with a team
