The Human Resources team plays a key role in partnering with the business unit to achieve its business objectives by building and retaining top talent, enhancing organizational efficiency through delivering competitive employee programs, driving employee effectiveness and executing on a strong Labour Relations strategy .
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and results-driven individual to provide HR business analysis and labour relations support to our Field Services group. The primary role is to provide research and analysis on various HR/LR related issues that impact the organization, manage key HR programs and consult with business unit leaders to provide HR solutions to a broad range of people issues. More specifically, the HR Consultant will:
Job duties/accountabilities:
- Provide support to Senior HR Consultants on various business issues by:
- Analyzing data and aggregating results into client reports to aid in management decision making;
- Producing key metrics on a weekly/monthly basis and identifying HR issues impacting the business units;
- Leveraging other HR systems, including SAP, to retrieve data for various reporting needs.
- Provide complete HR program delivery and management of a range of HR strategies and initiatives designed to improve individual and business unit performance by:
- Collaborating with Centres of Expertise (COEs) during the development phase to ensure the people needs of the business unit are met;
- Facilitating and leading the introduction, delivery and ongoing support of the programs to the business unit leaders;
- Assessing and monitoring the success of the HR programs and providing feedback to COEs.
- Provide advice, guidance, coaching and HR leadership to business unit leaders by:
- Assisting and supporting leaders on the interpretation and application of the collective agreements (grievances, discipline, posting process, etc.);
- Coaching leaders on HR policies, programs and processes for resolving and mediating people issues;
- Escalating and partnering with appropriate resources to resolve leader issues to ensure satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness and thorough communication.
Essential skills/competencies:
- University Degree in Human Resources or other relevant discipline;
- Combination of 3 to 5 years’ experience in Human Resources. Additional experience in Labour Relations would be an asset
- Strong ability to analyze data, utilize problem solving skills & provide summaries of analysis;
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project;
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills – must have excellent written skills;
- Strong results orientation and a track record of execution;
- Strong ability to understand business priorities, issues and people impacts;
- Demonstrated ability to create and build multiple partnerships;
- Demonstrated coaching and facilitation skills;
- Excellent project management capabilities;
- HR designation is an asset;
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
